Enlightenment in the Union (yoga) of Male with Female
When the darkness evaporates in the Presence (the Light), the result is enlightenment, Samadhi. In this era of Kali Yuga, there is 5% light and 95% dark energy.
Within the yoga system, Prakrati, the female, is acknowledged as nature, and is composed of three gunas, aspects, that compose all matter. Purusha, the male, is consciousness. Nature operates in a state of duality, just as the ego seeks to separate us from the “other.”
When Prakriti unites with Purusha, their union unfolds an evolutionary process that leads to the creation of the material world with a spiritual purpose in mind and choose Sadhana that helps in rising above the fields of mind. Enlightenment occurs when Purusha recognizes its complete difference from Prakriti.
Ardhanarishvara resides within both the male and female. In the male body, the female is hidden as shadow, and in the female body, the male is represented as the shadow.
Thoughts evolve from Prakriti, nature, into the field of the mind. These thoughts may turn into feelings, causing expectations. Sukha, pleasurable experiences that present themselves. As the thoughts attempt to manifest as Rajas (active) energy, frequently, this leads to Dukha, pain or disappointment.
The duality of Ardhanarishwara may be resolved with appropriate Sadhana (spiritual practices) that manages the strategies of the ego. Higher thoughts and perspectives initiated through the use of focused sounds of the chakras, mantras that direct the light to our shadow side, are some of the techniques.
In this workshop, we will focus on the unity of our duality, experiencing the evaporation of the darkness in meditation as we enhance the light!
